U.S. Air Force Museum

A new link to the U.S. Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio had been added to the theodicy.org web directory page. You will find the link in the fourth column ("software, technology and science") under the sub-heading "military interest."

I've been to many various museums throughout my life, but the Air Force museum is, by far, the most amazing museum I've ever seen. A good reason for that is their collection of over 350 authentic aircraft, missiles and spacecraft from the original Wright Flyer to the most modern jets in the Air Force inventory.

The reason I added a link to the Air Force Museum's website will be explained in a future blog...

My Twelve Theses of the Holy Spirit

As I state on the home page of theodicy.org:

"Following in the footsteps of Martin Luther, I’ve decided to nail my own theses to the Internet Door. Sadly, I don’t think my “Twelve Theses of the Holy Spirit” will start a reformation, but hopefully it will provide a very brief, but useful theology for understanding the person and work of the Holy Spirit."

Please click on the above link to the article, ("My Twelve Theses of the Holy Spirit") read it, and post a comment on it here at the blogspot.

Note: Often the titles of each individual blog serve as links to the subject matter discussed. Move your mouse pointer over the title to see if a link is enabled or not.

I originally posted this article on the Free Republic website, a very conservative, right-wing blog spot that's been an active and informative place since 1998. You can read the article in it's orginal form by clicking here.

The purpose of this article is to provide an accurate and succint description of the person of the Holy Spirit, and how we are to relate to him as Christians. Be forwarned: since it's a rather technical article, it does not make for very exciting reading. (But at least it's relatively short and to-the-point!)

This article marks the first orginal contribution to the theodicy.org web site.

Go Speed Racer GO!!!!

Yes, I admit it. I'm an unashamed fan of the the 'Speed Racer' cartoon series. I remember watching it on TV when I was just a little tike. I introduced the series to my son by renting 'Speed Racer' videos from Blockbuster Video, and he loves them as much as I do. Now the first 23 episodes are available on two DVD's, and we quickly added them to our collection as soon as they came out. Even though the series orginally aired in 1967, it is still one of the most imaginative and fun cartoons I remember watching growing up. Of course, Speed is up-to-speed in the internet era, and has his own Flash! enabled website.

Another great cartoon series from that era is 'Jonny Quest,' the entire first season (26 episodes) is also available on DVD.

Slightly different from 'Speed Racer' and 'Jonny Quest' is Gerry Anderson's 'Thunderbirds' featuring VIDECOLOR and SUPERMARIONATION!!! It is another fantastic series from the mid 60's, but using puppets and highly detailed models rather than animation. We already have all six DVD box sets of the episodes. A live-action 'Thunderbirds' movie (using actors rather than puppets) is coming to theaters in the USA on July 30. Personally, I wish they had stuck with the puppets.

After nearly 40 years, there still hasn't been anything on television that compares with these intelligent, highly imaginative series from the 60's.

Welcome to the Theodicy BLOG

Thanks to Marc van der Woude and his blog site Marc's Messages I've decided to enter the wonderful world of blogging. I've already been experimenting with blogging since December '03, but just used it as a means to record favorites sites and to list books I wanted to read. Marc's article "Why I blog and Goooooogle" served as my main motivation to begin a REAL blog.

Now I'm inspired to actually write something meaningful, rather than just post a list of links to interesting web sites. I deleted all 22 of my previous blog entries, and am starting all over as of today.

The main purpose of this blog will be to discuss articles, especically those that appear on my "main" web site: Theodicy.org. Many of the articles are things that I've seen on Marc's web site, plus those things that I find interesting in my various meanderings through the World Wide Web. I'm also beginning to post original articles on the Theodicy.org site, and will link to those articles from here, for those who'd like to comment on them or discuss them further.

Forgive me if this site is a bit bland at this time. Over the course of the next several months, I hope to have a list of links to other interesting blogs and web sites, as well as a list of "must read" books for those who are interested.

May God bless you, and keep you, and may His mighty right hand be upon you.
