Theodicy's Poetry Corner

Today's poem is from the book "Notes to Myself" by Gordon Prather. Read this one slowly and carefully, then read it again, and again...

--------------------

If I had only…
Forgotten future greatness
And looked at the green things and the buildings
And reached out to those around me
And smelled the air
And ignored the forms and the self-styled obligations
And heard the rain on the roof
And put my arms aorund my wife
…and it's not too late.

That was an excellent read, thank you for posting it. If it's not to much trouble I was wondering if you could check out a bit of my poetry at verselurks.blogspot.com, and tell me what you think of it. I only have two pieces up right now and the first was written with the intention of turning it into an oratory art.
